Muriel is the manta ray star of the 13th episode of season 2, The Octonauts and The Manta Rays. She has two unnamed remora fish friends who ride on her underside at all times. They describe her as "not very good at leaping" and "not very good at anything." Even though they claim that Muriel is clumsy, they still consider her their friend. They soon find she is good at acting like a sail in the water. She gets help from Dashi and the other Octonauts to find the secret Manta Ray feeding ground. She was able to make a perfect jump while helping the Octonauts escape from the feeding frenzy.
