Pinto is Peso's enthusiastic little brother who thinks Peso is a real hero. He appears in "The Kelp Forest Rescue", "The Oarfish", and "The Great Penguin Race". He appears again in Above & Beyond. When he first came to visit the Octopod in "The Kelp Forest Rescue," Pinto was more interested in being a pirate like Kwazii than a medic, which makes his big brother Peso a little jealous of Kwazii.
Compared to Peso, Pinto favors excitement and is prone to making reckless actions that tend to cause problems. In one episode, he sounded the Octo-Alert. He is the youngest out of his brothers.
In Above & Beyond Season 1 in "The Octonauts and the Curious Penguin", he wants to become an Octo-Agent and help out his big brother, but struggles to prove he’s responsible for it due to his tendency to get distracted, like when he stopped to observe a bombardier beetle when he was suppose to help give water to thirsty kangaroos that Koshi was helping. After rescuing Paani and Dashi from a boiling hot sulfur spring, with the help of his new friend Elton the elk, he’s shown to mature and think fast, so Peso gives him his Octo-Watch and recruits him as a Junior Octo-Agent.
Appearance[]
Pinto looks like his older brother Peso without his uniform, except he has two scruffy feathers on top of his head. In "The Octonauts and the Kelp Forest Rescue", he gets an eye patch from Kwazii and a smaller version of Peso's medic hat from his older brother himself. Pinto never wore any casual clothing in his debut, but starting from his second appearance, he wears an orange scarf. He is no longer wearing the scarf in Above & Beyond, and instead wears a red school backpack with a fish pattern on it, and eventually gets his own Octo-Watch to wear on his left flipper.

- Pinto's family and his home resides in Chilean Antarctica. This is also where his school is located. It’s likely that, at least in the US dub, this was done to explain why Peso’s family have South American accents.
- Pinto wants to be an Octonaut, and possibly a medic, when he grows into an adult.
- Strangely, Pinto was the only Octo-Agent completely absent in Above and Beyond Season 2, and his absence is never explained.
- However, he does return in Above and Beyond Season 3 in the episode The Penguin Adventure.
- Of the Octonauts crew's younger relatives, Pinto is taller than Orson and Ursa but shorter than Koshi.
